Sask OpenHey folks. As you may have guessed, I have not put any work into organizing the 2010 Sask Open. To be blunt, I have so little interest in chess these days that I completely lack motivation in this regard. If for no other reason than to follow through on my commitment, however, I will try to solicit support for an early- to mid-June weekend. For the record I will not advertise the 2010 Sask Open out of province, but I hope to renew dialogue with the Regina contingent. Which June weekend works best for you lot?
Monday Night Chess - What's Up?UPDATE: There is no chess on Monday, April 5, as it is Easter Monday. Chess will resume on Monday, April 12 at 6:30 pm. From now until May (or whenever interest wanes) there will be chess in the Computer Room at Brunskill School on Monday nights, from 6:30 pm until 9:00 pm. At this time I'd like to put the question to you, the membership, as to what you would like to see happen. Please present your ideas, either in the comment section of this article, or take this this poll. BATB Lecture and Themed Active ResultsThe lecture on central pawn majorities was well attended last night with 11 people coming out. From my perspective, I think it went well - I managed to cover all of the material I planned to, and I did it in 2 hours. I got the feeling that those who attended the lecture emerged with an increased understanding of chess middlegames, which is what I was after. Perhaps others will comment on this article with their opinion of the lecture? I'm always willing to hear your feedback.
