Another Junior Pre-Registered for Saskatoon Open

Kristofor Amundson from Wakaw has announced his intentions to participate in the upcoming tournament. Kristofor is no stranger to the Saskatoon chess scene as last year he frequently attended our weekly meetings and showed that he is not to be taken lightly.

Entry fee for Saskatoon Open Reduced for Juniors

Due to the large number of Juniors expected to play in this year's Saskatoon Open, the entry fee for players under 18 has been reduced to $25, and only $20 if pre-registered before September 21, 2003.

2 New Players Pre-Registered for the Saskatoon Open

Kevin Me and Xiaoming Wang, both from Saskatoon, have pre-registered for the Saskatoon Open which is taking place on September 26 & 27, 2003. Both players participated in the 2003 Canadian Nationals held in Kapuskasing, Ontario, and in November of 2002, Kevin Me represented our country in the U10 boys World Championships in Crete, Greece!

Tournament Results for SCC Members

In the past two months, three of our members competed in tournaments. Chris Achtemichuk finished with 3/5 in the July Jamboree held in Regina, which resulted in a performance rating of 1735, and won him the U1700 cash prize. Trevor Robertson played in the CFC rated Canada Day Open, finished with 2.5/5, and a performance rating of 1720. And Jamin Gluckie played in Edmonton, finished in 15th place out of 25 with a score of 2/5 and a performance rating of 1910.
